IDF forces attacked a Hezbollah stronghold in the Baalbak region of Lebanon/IDF spokesman
Earlier tonight, it was reported in the Lebanese media that the IDF forces carried out attacks in the area of the city of Baalbak in the east of the country, near the Lebanese border. The attacks resulted in a wave of missiles being fired towards the Upper Galilee. The IDF quickly responded to those attacks, and attacked the Lebanese launchers responsible for them.
The IDF announced that it attacked during the night a workshop containing various weapons of the terrorist organization Hezbollah in the area of the city of Baalbak. Following this attack, rockets were fired from the Lebanon region towards the finger of the Galilee in Israel. Explosions were heard in the towns of Shinir and Odem.

In total, about fifty surface-to-surface rockets were fired at Israel, several launches were intercepted and the rest fell
in open areas.
In response, IDF aircraft attacked the launchers from which some of the launches into Israeli territory were detected.
The Baalbak area is deep in Lebanon, about a hundred kilometers from the border. Last month, the IDF attacked the area for the first time since the beginning of the war.
This, after Hezbollah shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle of the Air Force, which crashed in Lebanese territory.
