1042 colorful eggs bring Easter joy to Moosburger: At the action day on Saturday in the city center, the new Easter fountain in the district court garden was ceremoniously consecrated.

Moosburg

– The weather should have been a little better so that the premiere of the city of Moosburg would have been perfect.

But despite the rain, the atmosphere at the Easter action day on Saturday in downtown Moosburg was great.

To kick things off, the new Easter fountain in the district court garden was inaugurated in the morning.

So far, the Moosburg building yard had 442 Easter eggs in its collection, which were always hung on the trees on Herrnstrasse.

But that always looked a bit lean, so we have now rescheduled.

Rita Thomas from the craft room produced another 600 Easter eggs in just over three weeks of homework, so that there are now 1042 eggs that decorate the Easter fountain in the district court garden.

Rita Thomas invested a lot of time and passion: “Exchanging an egg for oil paint only takes ten minutes, but then it has to dry, make holes and thread it onto the necklace.”

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Mayor Josef Dollinger was full of praise for everyone involved in the Easter fountain - from the artist to the construction team: "Others need six months of preparation, and we just do it on the fly." Moosburg's construction yard built the scaffolding for the Easter egg fountain , which can now be built every year without much effort.

The fountain, decorated with an Easter egg crown, was ceremoniously consecrated by the Catholic deacon Josef Kafko and the Protestant pastor Regine Weller.

And just as Josef Kafko blessed the fountain with holy water, the rain took a break during the small celebration.

“That can only be a sign from above,” joked Mayor Dollinger.

Flea market falls through

The planned children's flea market in the city center, which Dollinger had also written to neighboring communities about, literally fell through on Saturday.

But the idea remains for the future.

In general, Josef Dollinger wants to invite communities from the northeastern district to future events in the city center.

“As a medium-sized center, we want to bring citizens from the surrounding communities into our city center,” emphasized the mayor.

In Herrnstraße there was a lot for visitors to experience - from climbing in front of the town hall to the good-mood community of Narrhalla.

The children and adults of the carnival club dance full of joy, even in the rain.

In this fun company, the well-known clown Toni Toss felt particularly comfortable in his new role as the Easter Bunny.

The Easter Bunny then helped the children find real and chocolate eggs in the district court garden.

Old socks become Easter bunnies

The event in the city library, where the craft corner was permanently occupied, was independent of the weather.

The children were able to make funny Easter bunnies out of the socks they had brought with them.

Library intern Finn read Easter stories to keep everyone busy.

Numerous shops from the city center also took part in the Easter campaign by Moosburg Marketing eG, so that the young visitors to the shops received sweet rewards for their search.

In the future, Mayor Josef Dollinger would like to turn Herrnstrasse into a pedestrian zone and thus an event area for citizens.

What exactly will take place has not yet been decided.

There will definitely be another Easter action day, and hopefully the weather will cooperate.
