Around 80 people recently formed a big heart at the sports field in front of the gym on Hammerschmiedweg.
Symbolic drum beats rang out.
Alliance “Together for Democracy and Diversity” for the third time on the street of Wolfratshausen
Wolfratshausen – After the light demonstration in Wolfratshausen’s old town and the subsequent cyclist protest at Neuer Platz in Geretsried, the “Together for Democracy and Diversity” alliance was formed for the third time.
Organization manager Rita Wahl thanked the approximately 80 participants all the more.
Every single person is important.
Organization manager Rita Wahl
“Every individual is important,” emphasized organization manager Rita Wahl.
The native Lithuanian has been living in Germany for 28 years, works at a school and is committed to the group of asylum seekers, including as an interpreter for refugees from Ukraine.
The electoral successes of the AfD, which the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution has classified as right-wing extremist in many places, have not only worried them.
Wolfgang Saal from Waldram came to such a rally once again.
“Many still believe that none of this affects them: we have the problem right on our doorstep,” he told our newspaper when asked.
In this context, Saal recalled the high AfD votes in some polling stations in Geretsried and Waldram.
For him and Rita Wahl it is now important to be loud and visible.
Third mayor of Wolfratshausen takes part in the meeting for democracy and diversity
That's why the alliance recently called for people to take along artificial hearts, drums, wooden spoons, pots and other noise instruments.
“We want to show the right-wing extremists in our country that our heart beats for democracy and diversity and not for a dictatorship,” explained Wahl.
She asked the demonstrators in advance to avoid inflammatory slogans and to refrain from displaying posters with defamatory slogans.
“Pay attention to your vocabulary!” she warned.
Afterwards, loud banging of pots and drum rolls could be heard for about five minutes.
The participants - including Third Mayor Annette Heinloth (Greens) and city councilor Dr.
Patrick Lechner (FDP) – formed a circle and held hands.
Peace activist Hans Gärtner sang militant songs on his guitar.
The refrain “Defend yourself, resist fascism here in the country, stick together” is likely to be heard in the alliance’s next actions.
