The
cultural battle
promoted by the Government to change the outlook on the National Day of Memory, Truth and Justice, which culminated this Sunday with
the dissemination of an institutional video
, provoked
different reactions among the members of the cabinet
. Javier Milei.
The first to expose a
subtle differentiation
due to the debate on the figure of 30 thousand disappeared during the last military dictatorship was the Minister of Defense, the radical Luis Petri, who, in statements to radio Rivadavia, considered that the same "does
not contribute to the discussion. It is a trap
between those who say that the figure is such or not. What it does contribute is working to consolidate democracy every day," he considered, marking distances with the meaning of the official message.
Those around the head of the Defense portfolio stressed that these considerations were made without having seen the video of the Executive that is committed to a "Complete Report" and in response to the one that
Vice President Victoria Villarruel had posted about 15 minutes before
, where It states that "HR are for everyone" and calls for "reparation for the victims of terrorism" under the hashtag "NoFueron30mil."
However, Petri explained that on March 24, 1976 "there was a coup, clearly Argentina is beyond the coup of '76 and the (state) terrorism that occurred. The institutional breaks started on September 6, 1930 and only recently We consolidated the democratic system on December 10, 1983. During that period, only 9 presidents should have passed and we had more than 23. This speaks of the darkest period, those 53 years, and that it took a lot to recover democracy."
On the other hand, the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, supported Clarin
's consultation with
the video that the Casa Rosada account posted shortly before 11 o'clock by assuring that "it is the
logic of waging a cultural battle in all areas to defeat a hegemonic story for so long about human rights as an ideological tool
. It is encouraging things that before (other governments) were not encouraged."
Regarding the official rejection of the figure of 30 thousand missing, he recalled that a short time ago the Buenos Aires Legislature "voted that there were 30 thousand, a motion that was supported even by some of the PRO except the legislators who respond to my space and those of LLA. There is a part of politics that does not dare to break with the logic of a speech: if it was 30 thousand, 24 thousand or the 8 or so thousand that Conadep claims... (
Luis) Labraña explains how that figure came about
" .
In this sense, he appreciated the Government's video "which proposes to talk about this truth and
is quite gentle because it does not include images of the bombs
or a story that leans" towards one of the sides of the crack.
When asked about how that campaign crossing with Javier Milei turned out when he accused her of having planted bombs in kindergartens - when referring to the militancy of the official in the JP and Montoneros in the 70s -, Bullrich maintained that "he served him" in that proselytizing stage but assured that
this debate "has been settled."
