In a museum in Baden-Württemberg, visitors will soon be able to take a look at something that is particularly important to Hollywood star David Hasselhoff.

Bad Rappenau – David Hasselhoff (71) became famous worldwide in the 1990s with the role of lifeguard Mitch Buchannon.

His “Baywatch” look is equally well-known to this day: bright red swimming trunks.

Fans will soon be able to see them for themselves – in a museum in Germany.

“We have thus been able to acquire another top-class item for our museum, which also completes our Baywatch collection alongside Pamela Anderson’s original swimsuit,” museum director Marco Preißer is quoted as saying on the museum’s website.

In addition to Hasselhoff's iconic lifeguard outfit, the museum already has exhibits from other great icons, including Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Amy Winehouse and Brigitte Bardot (89).

Lots of “Baywatch” in the museum from summer

The museum purchased the Hasselhoff swimming trunks on Wednesday evening (March 20) at an auction by the US auction house Heritage Auctions.

However, the piece can only be seen from the summer of 2024: From July, the BikiniARTmuseum wants to show a large special Baywatch exhibition and then present the red cult swimming trunks for the first time.
