The Gauting police station has presented the 2023 statistics for the Gauting municipality.

The number of crimes has fallen.

Gauting

- The security situation in Gauting improved slightly in 2023, the number of crimes fell by 18.8 percent to 501.

In 2022 there were 617.

However, this does not apply to the entire Gauting police station area: the total number of crimes increased by 79.7 percent, which is not true.

The reason for the outlier is the expansion of the service area to include Gilching at the beginning of 2023 and thus double the population.

“This means that the burden of crime on the Gauting and Gilching population in 2023 will be 2,978 crimes per 100,000 inhabitants; in Bavaria there are 4,361 cases, which means that life is safer in Gauting and Gilching than in many places elsewhere in Bavaria,” explained Inspection manager Andreas Ruch.

The clearance rate for Gauting was 58.3 percent (minus 6.1 percentage points).

Gauting is also further divided as a community - Stockdorf is still looked after by the Planegger police.

In the individual areas there were also significantly more cases in Gauting.

There were seven burglaries in 2023 and two in 2022.

There were already three on New Year's Eve.

In Gauting, property damage increased by around 36 percent (to 121 cases), physical injuries increased by 7.5 percent (to 43 cases), and fraud by 16.5 percent (to 106 cases).

In Gauting, drug cases have decreased (by 45 percent to 35).

“Sadly, the seized drugs also include a wide spectrum of drugs.

In addition to amphetamine, cocaine, ecstasy, crystal and marijuana were also the subject of the investigation,” said Ruch.

Theft (minus 8.9 percent) and shoplifting (minus 60 percent) have decreased.

The “fake police officer” scams and the like remain dangerous, warns Ruch.

In Gauting in particular, it is not expected that these calls will stop due to the high average age.

“These generations were taught to respect public officials at school.” They would quickly lose their composure if a supposed police officer called.
