Munich – On Sunday evening, the German Weather Service warns of “strong thunderstorms” in Munich.
Until 6 p.m.
“There are squalls with speeds of up to 70 km/h and small-grain hail,” write the experts.
There is also an extensive list of tips for residents of Munich that contains clear recommendations for action:
Danger from lightning strikes, individual falling branches;
flying objects and hailstorms.
Avoid staying outdoors or seek shelter (e.g. in buildings).
Avoid bodies of water and secure free-standing objects (e.g. screens and furniture).
When outdoors, watch out for falling objects (e.g. branches).
Other districts in Upper Bavaria affected by DWD warning
Numerous other districts in Upper Bavaria are affected by the DWD warning.
Around Munich, for example, Starnberg, Ebersberg, Dachau and Fürstenfeldbruck.
At the Alpenrad, for example in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district, there is also a warning of squalls until Monday morning.
