The municipality of Weßling passed its budget unanimously.

The debt is increasing.

Weßling

– The community of Weßling is investing in the future: This is how the 2024 budget, which was unanimously passed this week, can be summarized.

“Despite the need to make cuts in some areas, we have managed to integrate many important projects into the budget,” explained Mayor Michael Sturm.

When it comes to trade tax revenue, the municipality of Weßling is optimistic about the year 2024; it expects revenue of 6.5 million euros - an amount at pre-Corona levels, as treasurer Sebastian Görlitz said, who nevertheless warned: “The trade tax is a supporting one “Pillar of the community, but not a reliable partner”.

If revenue collapses again, it could be difficult to cover the fixed costs in the administrative budget.

The treasurer criticized the continuously increasing district levy, which this year is around 6 million euros.

The debts amount to around 13.5 million euros.

Around half of this amount can be attributed to the financing of the bypass and the primary school.

However, the municipality still expects funding for this, for example around 300,000 euros for the bypass.

Argelsrieder Straße 1 is also taken into account in the debt amount - a project in which interest and repayment are covered in the long term by rental income and subsidies, according to Görlitz.

The community will continue to rely on affordable housing in the future: loans totaling 13,450,000 euros are planned between 2024 and 2027, which will drive up per capita debt.

In 2024, Görlitz expects 2,448 euros.

The average value in comparable communities in Bavaria is 762 euros.

In 2023, the administrative budget was balanced - thanks to an unexpected advance payment of trade tax of one million euros.

On the income side this year are the two properties for sale (around 1.6 million euros) and the withdrawal from reserves (around one million euros).

“In terms of square meters, we still have more than before we sold the properties because we bought Argelsrieder Straße 1, where affordable housing is being built,” emphasized Görlitz.

A loan of around two million euros is planned; the municipality expects around 3.7 million euros from the federal and state governments.

A few adjustment screws were turned to increase income.

Sturm: “We have increased the water fees and childcare fees, but also made savings in one place or another.” And an additional source of income for the community of Weßling is imminent: the contracts for the rental of the train station building and the old school in Weßling will be signed soon signed, Sturm revealed to the Starnberger Merkur.

The largest items in the Weßlingen budget: Trade tax is the largest income item at 6.5 million euros, followed by income tax at 5.15 million euros.

Sales tax: 1.4 million euros;

Property tax A and B: 942,000 euros;

User fees and charges: around 1.8 million euros;

Grants and allocations: 1.5 million euros.

The largest expenses: personnel costs totaling 5.65 million euros, of which almost 3 million euros for childcare and social services and 2.1 million euros for administration.

Property maintenance: approx. 854,000 euros, management 928,000 euros.

Administrative expenses: almost 1.17 million euros.

Grants: 1.2 million euros.

Trade tax levy: 690,000 euros;

District levy: around 6 million euros.

Investments: around 7 million euros, of which 2.5 million euros for housing construction, 1.3 million euros for road construction, etc.
