The country is experiencing one of the most important electoral processes in its history with the renewal of 20,000 public positions

Mexico is living the prelude to its presidential election.

In the most important electoral process in history, the presidency of the Republic, the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies and the governorships of Chiapas, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Morelos, Puebla, Tabasco, Veracruz, Yucatán and Mexico City are renewed.

Last weekend the first debate between the candidates for head of Government was held in the country's capital.

The meeting was led by Clara Brugada, the candidate of the Let's Keep Making History coalition in Mexico City, made up of Morena, the Labor Party and the Green Ecologist, Santiago Taboada, candidate of the PRI, PAN and PRD in the Va por la alliance CDMX, and by Salomón Chertorivski, the candidate of the Citizen Movement (MC).

For the presidential election, the new person in charge of the Executive will come from the Morenoist Claudia Sheinbaum;

Xóchitl Gálvez, standard bearer of the opposition front;

and Jorge Álvarez Máynez, from the Citizen Movement party.

Almost a month after the start of the campaigns, the polls maintain Sheinbaum as the leader, with an advantage that doubles the voting intention of Xóchitl Gálvez, her closest pursuer.

Xóchitl Gálvez, on the kidnapping of 25 people in Sinaloa: “It is worrying that the governor says 'these are things that happen'”

Xóchitl Gálvez, presidential candidate for the Fuerza y Corazón por México coalition, criticized that the governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moy, had, as she said, “minimized” the impact of the kidnapping of at least 25 people in Culiacán, Sinaloa.

"It worries me because children and women are still missing and the most worrying thing is the normality with which the governor says 'these are things that happen.'

I don't think they are things that happen, they try to normalize violence, that we see it normal for seven families to rise up with their wives and children.

It's good that the Army reacted immediately, but it is clear that the issue of insecurity is worrying," Gálvez said this Saturday during a campaign tour in Oaxaca.

During the early hours of this Saturday, authorities reported that nine adults and nine minors had been released.

Nothing is known yet about the seven remaining victims.

The national government responded to the kidnapping by sending federal forces.

Sheinbaum maintains that in the opposition “they cannot say who they really are”

The presidential candidate of the Let's keep making history coalition charged against her rival Xóchitl Gálvez during a stop on her campaign tour in Coahuila.

Asked about the support that the opposition Front received from the Spanish far-right of Vox and the conservative representative of the Popular Party (PP) Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, Sheinbaum said that she was not surprised.

In the Front, she said “they have conservative thinking, but they cannot open it publicly in Mexico” because “fewer people would still vote for them.”

“Then they have to put on a costume that allows them to present themselves in a different way.

Now Vox comes to say or a representative from Spain, who came from the extreme right, to say that she supported the Front;

"They already said no, that they are not going to accept that support, but the problem is that they cannot say who they really are."

Sheinbaum also referred to former President Vicente Fox. “He is the one who really says what he thinks.

A few months ago he said that everyone who receives social programs is lazy.

Now all the PAN candidates say no, that they always agreed with the social programs.”

Sheinbaum offers to include the opinion of businessmen in the policy of increasing the minimum wage

Claudia Sheinbaum, candidate of the Let's Keep Making History coalition (Morena, PVEM and PT), has offered to take into account the opinion of business owners in her proposal to increase the minimum wage for workers.

The official standard-bearer has indicated that, if she wins the elections on June 2, her goal will be for the minimum wage to be enough to buy 2.5 basic baskets a day, which represents a nominal increase in the following years of about 11% annually. .

"It will not be a policy of definition from the Government, but, as has been done until now, in a permanent negotiation with the businessmen of our country, even when there is talk of polarization," Sheinbaum said in a meeting with the Chamber National Commerce (Canaco) in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

The presidential candidate presented to the businessmen of the northern State the achievements of her management as head of Government of Mexico City in economic matters.

She also highlighted the stability achieved at the national level by the policies of the president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Sheinbaum affirmed that the president has made "the most important decisions in economic matters" by consensus, and assured that she will continue that practice.

"There has not been a decision to increase the minimum wage unilaterally, it has been a collective, consensus decision," he indicated.

"When the way of contracting changed to

outsourcing

, it was not a unilateral decision by the Government, but rather it was a series of talks. When the criteria for natural gas were defined, it was also a series of talks with the Government of Mexico. The issue of changes in labor matters was also a collective decision, and that is how it will continue to be, there will be no individual decisions," he assured.

Gálvez presents a 10-point plan against the water crisis and criticizes Sheinbaum's results in Security

The opposition Xóchitl Gálvez took advantage of World Water Day to present a 10-point plan to combat the water crisis in her press conference this Friday.

The candidate of the Force and Heart for Mexico coalition - made up of the PAN, the PRI and the PRD - pledged that investment in infrastructure will be a "top priority" and guaranteeing access to water will be "a matter of national security."

The candidate proposes improving the collection of rainwater to replenish the aquifers, the reuse of treated and residual water, and technology to detect "huachicoleo" through clandestine intakes and wells.

The program includes desalination plants in some cities in the country and promoting a public-private investment plan, as well as new guidelines for territorial planning and modernization of the countryside, the sector that consumes the most this resource.

Gálvez also spoke about the fight against insecurity, the backbone of his campaign, and criticized his rival, the ruling party Claudia Sheinbaum.

"Organized crime remains unstoppable," accused the opponent.

"That is the second floor that Claudia Sheinbaum wants," she said.

Gálvez said the reduction in crime in the capital was due to the pandemic and a global trend of less activity due to confinement.

"These are mediocre results," she said.

The flag bearer cited official data to refer to the fact that eight out of every ten inhabitants of Mexico City are afraid of crime.

"That is the reality, no matter how much I want to disguise the figures," she concluded.

Xóchitl Gálvez: "Me with Vox not even in the corner"

Xóchitl Gálvez, opposition candidate for the presidency, marked her distance from the Spanish far-right party Vox.

"I'm not even on the corner with Vox," declared the standard-bearer of the PAN, PRI and PRD coalition in a press conference this Friday.

The statements come hours after a report came to light from the Madrid Forum and the Disenso Foundation, both linked to Vox, in which it is stated that the votes in Mexico are practically decided in favor of the ruling party Claudia Sheinbaum.

The organizations offered their "support" and "strategies" to Gálvez to shorten distances.

The applicant rejected the offer.

"I paint my line clearly. I am not a right-wing woman," she added.
