The Lenggries Artists' Association (KVL) will hold the art week for the 20th time in autumn - and the preparations are correspondingly extensive.
The show will take place from September 6th to 29th and this year the motto is “Dialogue”.
Lenggries - “When we decided on the motto a long time ago, we didn't know how explosive this word would become,” says KVL board member Günter Unbescheid with regard to social developments.
The focus is on dialogue with each other, but also artistic dialogue.
“On an artistic level, we will try to place opposing positions in a spatial context.”
The KVL members Veronika Partenhauser, Jürgen Dreistein, Sophie Frey, Ecki Kober, Gabriele Pöhlmann, Paul Schwarzenberger and Klas Stöver are currently working on their works.
“It’s just that I’m already done,” says Unbescheid with a smile.
“But that is really extraordinary.” He is showing works that he actually wanted to show in the Benediktbeuern monastery last fall, but the exhibition had to be canceled after the hailstorm.
This time, the passionate photographer is showing a series with motifs that revolve around trees and forests - nothing more has been revealed yet.
Numerous guest artists invited
As always, the KVL has invited guest artists.
Marina Herrmann, Andreas Kuhnlein, Lisa Mayerhofer, Monika Supé and Charlotte Vogele have accepted.
The KVL has already worked with them in recent years.
The Lenggries artist Pascale Schwarzenberger and Bernard Verdet will be taking part for the first time.
The Swiss works with weaving, Schwarzenberger specializes in reverse glass drawings and photography.
Last winter her exhibition in Holzkirchen was very well received.
There will also be a video performance by the group “Apnoa Collective” during the exhibition.
In addition, a catalog will be published again, and because this is the 20th exhibition, those involved want to poster on a larger scale.

The exhibition again requires a lot of preparation.
There will be a meeting with the mayor of Lenggries, Stefan Klaffenbacher, shortly.
The hailstorm in August also caused damage to the barracks, including broken window panes in the area of the former canteen.
Unbescheid also wants to ask whether the building yard could help the artists.
Without financial support, the Lenggries Art Week could not take place.
“Our inquiries with sponsors and supporters are ongoing,” says the board.
He also hopes that the Ministry of Culture will provide a subsidy, as in previous years.
