The weather in Munich will still be stormy and wet on Sunday.

But forecasts see a clear upward trend until Easter weekend.

Munich - The weather in March is currently a constant ups and downs: While the people of Munich were blessed with sunshine and temperatures of up to 18 degrees on Friday, winter suddenly set in on Sunday morning, March 24th, with snow and sleet.

According to the German Weather Service (DWD), the moody weather will continue for now.

Official warning of snowfall and squalls in the Alps

An official warning of wind gusts with speeds of around 55 km/h is still in effect for the state capital until Sunday evening at 8 p.m.

Since rainfall can occur again and again throughout the day, storm gusts of up to 70 km/h are possible near showers and in exposed locations, according to the DWD.

In the Bavarian Alps, the weather service is warning of severe gusts above 1,500 meters, between 85 km/h and 100 km/h, until Monday morning; in exposed locations, hurricane-like gusts of up to 115 km/h must be expected.

Even if the temperatures in Munich climb up to 8 degrees on Sunday and after the short snowfall in the morning, no further flakes are expected for the time being - things are different in the mountains.

Both in the Alpine regions and in the Bavarian Forest between Cham and Passau, light snowfall with amounts of up to 10 centimeters can be expected until Sunday evening around 6 p.m.

Clear trend in Munich: first rainy weather, then temperatures over 20 degrees

But how will the weather develop in Munich and the surrounding area in the next few days?

According to the DWD forecast, temperatures in the state capital are climbing again: up to 11 degrees on Monday, maximums of 16 degrees on Tuesday and 13 degrees on Wednesday are expected.

While a mix of sun and clouds is expected on Monday and Tuesday, it is expected to rain again on Wednesday.
