A special project initiated by volunteers from Kibbutz Bari together with the southern branch of the Beit Ha'Galits association in Kibbutz Urim, creates a festive, happy and equal Purim even for children with disabilities.

During the project, in the last few weeks, the volunteers of the project heard from the children of the southern house the dreams and ambitions for the dream costume they want, precisely matched the measurements of the costume chosen according to the details of the child's wheelchair and walker, and printed them in the 'Bari print' which has returned to activity.

"The costume they made for me was really beautiful, I was very happy and excited to receive it, on Purim I plan to give out ice creams to my friends at school," said 9-year-old Ariel, who dressed up as an ice cream truck, and is dealing with a rare disease.

"It's really cool to add the wheelchair to the Purim costume as well. The final product turned out really well and I'm amazed that the costume is really cool," said 17.5-year-old Adi, who dressed up as a pirate, and who is facing Duchenne.

"Costumes are a great way for children with special needs to connect to the world of imagination and forget for a moment about the difficulties. Says Mirit, mother of 14-year-old Amit, who is dealing with a physical disability and a hearing impairment, who dressed up as a princess in a carriage.

Alongside the challenges of the time and in spite of everything, the volunteers of Kibbutz Bari did not agree to give up the exciting project this year as well. The kibbutz has been accompanying the southern house for many years with a variety of projects and supports, and this year the kibbutz decided to extend the project to the campers of the northern house of the house on wheels as well.

The southern house is one of the six houses of the House of Wheels association spread throughout the country, which help and are a second home for hundreds of teenagers and adults with physical disabilities.

In the various projects of the House of Wheels, the association works to integrate people with disabilities into society, as well as in the project 'Rolling Costumes', which allows children and teenagers with disabilities to celebrate Purim like everyone else, and to put the disability at the front of the stage as a source of pride.

Aviv Spigelman, CEO of the Beit HaGalits association: "It is not obvious for us at Beit HaGalits that this cooperation is taking place this year as well.

To grow together out of this terrible pain to the joy of the holiday for the children - this is real nobility and it moves us and the campers at the House of Wheels very much."
