What about the planned whiskey factory in Schlehdorf?

Does the place need to accept more refugees?

What about new development areas?

And when will the broadband expansion come?

At the citizens' meeting in Schlehdorf, town hall boss Stefan Jocher answered questions on many topics.

Schlehdorf – The plans to build a whiskey factory in the Schlehdorf industrial area are finally off the table.

It has been seven years since Mayor Stefan Jocher first reported such plans by Iffeldorfer Christian Heinrich at the citizens' meeting.

At the citizens' meeting on Thursday evening, the community leader announced the end of the project.

“You can’t have more patience”: The whiskey factory in Schlehdorf is over

Since there were still no complete construction documents at the end of last year, the local council unanimously “pulled the rip cord” and decided to repurchase the property.

The repurchase of the area has now already been notarized.

“However, the current property owner was not present at the notary appointment,” said Jocher.

The latter therefore still has to approve the certification.

He couldn't say whether Heinrich would do that.

This could delay the retransmission.

“You can’t really have more patience than the local council has shown with this construction project,” emphasized Jocher in front of the around 45 citizens, local councilors and town hall employees who came to the “Klosterbräu”.

The local council has not yet decided what will happen to the property after the transfer of ownership.

It would be conceivable to resell it to an interested commercial company or for community use.

Schlehdorf wants to start looking for available living space for refugees

So could this perhaps be an alternative location for the planned new building yard?

Jocher didn't say anything about that.

At the meeting, however, he spoke of the fact that “a different location” than the location in the Unterau district that is currently the focus of attention would be “conceivable”.

As far as the refugee issue is concerned, Jocher informed those present that there were currently 21 asylum seekers and three Ukrainian refugees living in the village.

This means that Schlehdorf only fulfills the quota in the district by 74 percent.

“That means we should do more to find available housing.”

The “Unterau-Ost” development plan is being pursued further

According to the decision of the Munich Administrative Court, no refugees could be forcibly assigned to the location by the district.

For reasons of solidarity, Schlehdorf wants to make its contribution.

There are “one or two empty buildings” in the village that would be suitable for use as asylum accommodation.

Jocher did not say which objects he specifically meant.

Instead, he informed those present that the planned expansion of the fire station could be delayed somewhat because no new space had yet been found for the equipment stored in the expansion area.

As far as the planned new Unterau-West development area is concerned, the local council has now finally decided not to pursue this further “for the time being”.

The land negotiations have not yet begun, which is why the deadline set by the Bundestag for the plan to come into force by the end of the year cannot be met.

However, it is conceivable to redraft the land use plan.

The “Unterau-Ost” development plan, however, will (as reported) continue to be pursued.

The number of children in primary school is constantly increasing

When it comes to child care, the community is “currently well positioned both in terms of staff and space.”

The new forest kindergarten, in which 16 children are currently cared for, contributes greatly to relieving the burden.

If it didn't exist, "we would have had to think again about expanding our children's home with correspondingly high investment costs."

Mayor Stefan Jocher also reported positive things about tourism.

The number of children in the Schlehdorf-Großweil primary school is constantly increasing.

While there were 78 children who learned in the two school buildings in the 2018/19 school year, there are currently 124 children.

176 children are forecast for 2028/29.

The number of children attending lunchtime care is also constantly increasing - as are tourism numbers, which Jocher described as a “very positive development”.

The number of overnight stays would have reached a “new record” of around 40,400 in 2023.

Regarding the upcoming broadband expansion, Jocher informed that, according to Telekom, it should “start this year”.

But he has his “biggest doubts” about this.
