Holzkirchen
- A freak weather event on Saturday evening (March 23rd) was fatal to a young Holzkirchner on the B 13 between Holzkirchen and Großhartpenning.
On a suddenly snowy road, he lost control of his Dacia and crashed into the Bayernwerke substation shortly after leaving the town.
Fortunately, he and his passenger (16) were uninjured.
As the Holzkirchen police report, the 21-year-old from Holzkirchen was driving his Dacia on the B 13 federal highway from Holzkirchen towards the south (Großhartpenning) around 8 p.m.
Just at this point, sleet began, which within seconds turned into a heavy sleet and covered the road with a thin layer of snow.
The 21-year-old from Holzkirchen braked his Dacia shortly after leaving Holzkirchen, but apparently he did so too abruptly.
The vehicle began to slide and the 21-year-old was no longer able to keep it on the road.
The car then slid to the right into the ditch and then broke through the fence of the Bayernwerke substation.
The Dacia only came to a stop when it crashed into a house wall on the substation site.
According to the police, the 21-year-old Holzkirchner and his 16-year-old passenger survived the accident largely uninjured.
There was estimated material damage to the car amounting to around 2,500 euros.
The substation fence was bent open at the bottom and a fence post was also damaged.
The police estimate the property damage here at around 200 euros.
