The headquarters of the families of the abductees announced this evening (Sunday) that preparations have been completed for the "United Purim" procession in Jerusalem, with the families expected to lead the procession.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to participate in the procession in the capital tomorrow (Monday).

At the headquarters of the families they said that the "United Purim" procession was adapted to the spirit of the time and its final outline was formulated after a discussion with the Jerusalem Municipality regarding the nature of the event, the name of the procession and the musical content.

The content on the stages was chosen and approved by the families and, among other things, the playlists of the abductees will be played.

At first, at the headquarters, the families opposed the initiative of the Jerusalem municipality to hold an Eid al-Aida in the capital - in the shadow of the war in Gaza.

The families of the abductees claimed that the renewal of the procession this year is portrayed as a particularly outrageous step - both because of the war and the crisis of the abductees, and in view of the fact that it has been more than 40 years since such a grandiose celebration took place in the capital.

The families even published a petition, in which they called for the procession to be postponed in view of the circumstances.

Despite the agreement reached with the headquarters of the families - some of the families of the abductees are angry/official website, the headquarters of the families of the abductees

"While in Holon and Tel Aviv the Eid al-Aida parades were canceled, in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, they decided to renew a tradition that stopped in 1982. An exciting, expensive and especially expensive parade - at a time of war and destruction the likes of which we have not known since the founding of the state," the families wrote and added: "To the arguments of the 'This is what we are fighting for', 'This is the only way to live' and 'We bring hope to our children' are a mask of insensitivity and lack of solidarity in the face of a reality that has gone fundamentally wrong", they said,

however, after a conversation they had with the mayor, Moshe Leon, a creative solution was found called "United Purim".

In a different form from the traditional Adalaid, where the procession will indeed march along its planned route - but will take place in the spirit of the times, led by the families of the abductees and with musical content approved in advance by the families.

Now it seems that not all the families of the abductees agreed with the solution that was agreed upon, and some are still angry that the event took place.

The procession is expected to be led by the families of Lior Rudaif, Romi Gonen, Carmel Gat, Itzik Elgert, Ofer Kalderon, Omer Shem Tov, Uriel Baruch and Tal Shaom.

The families of the abductees stated: "We thank the Municipality of Jerusalem and the Mayor, Moshe Leon, for listening and being willing to adapt the Purim events in the city to the spirit of the times. We see the capital city of the State of Israel as a beacon guiding the entire country in the proper and responsible way in the important task of returning all its sons and daughters to the Land of Israel, The life is for restoration, and the spaces for burial. There is no greater mitzvah than the mitzvah of redeeming captives."

The mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Leon said: "Jerusalem is celebrating Purim this year with the families and children of Jerusalem and the entire country. At the same time, we do not forget for a moment the pain of the families of the abducted, martyred and wounded. The procession that will take place tomorrow in the capital was adapted to the spirit of the times, and its purpose is to unite the people, To express hope, victory of spirit, firm standing and resilience. Jerusalem is happy to host the entire House of Israel, in prayer for the return of the abducted, for a promising future, peace and unity."
