The Government of

Javier Milei officially denied this Sunday that the figure of 30 thousand disappeared

during the last military dictatorship.

He did so by spreading a video on the Casa Rosada's social networks, in which a former guerrilla member claims that

.

The spot was broadcast this Sunday, in the middle of the commemoration of

Remembrance Day

for the 48th anniversary of the beginning of the last Dictatorship.

The testimony of Luis Labraña, former FAP, FAR and Montoneros guerrilla, is part of a 12-minute video that was published this morning on the official profile of X (formerly Twitter) of the Casa Rosada.

At the beginning of his story, Labraña said that he was kidnapped "by López Rega's people," who tied him to a wheel, beat him and threatened to kill him, so he had to leave the country.

"My destiny in Argentina was sealed there, there were people who raised money because I didn't even have a document and I left for Europe," he said.

The most controversial point in his story occurs when he states that "the disappearances were a big deal" and maintains that the number of 30,000 "was created in Holland."

"I remember that we went to see the prime minister's wife and some deputies to ask for money for the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo, who had come because they wanted to set up a place, a little house, to have to claim their children," he says.

He then maintains that at that time, according to his version, there were "around 4,000 missing people," but that when they presented that figure they responded that they could not talk about genocide.

"Genocide is what the Jewish people suffered with 6 million dead and the number is low for what you are saying. Why don't you try to come a little further ahead and look for more? Because there must be more," he said. "they responded."

Always according to Labraña's story, which the Government of Javier Milei broadcast as part of the official spot for Memorial Day, the former guerrilla says that shortly after - not being able to determine if it was a week or a month - a number was determined.

"They said outrageous things and someone said 30 thousand. He said 30 thousand as if to say: 'Well, cut it,' put 30 thousand.

It was me

," he says, taking credit for the figure that became a social consensus after the return of democracy.

In addition to denying the veracity of the number, Labraña questions the effect it had in Argentina.

"Did it serve to search for the truth? Did it help reality? No. It strengthened hatred and began to obscure the true history," he says.

In another part of the video, he openly states that the 30 thousand die

"was false, I put the number in and no one can argue with me, nor does anyone come to argue with me

. Was it a mistake? No, at that time it wasn't "It was a mistake. Was it projected as an error? Yes, of course, it was a big mistake. Because it was a flag of lies, meanness," he said, adding that he feels "proud to tell the truth."
