“Show that we also occupy the field”

Rebel activists from Lyon displayed a banner in front of the identity bar La Traboule, early this Monday morning, to demand the closure of this premises operated by the Remparts association, in Old Lyon.
This small far-right group, several activists of which were recently arrested and convicted in various cases of violence, was born from the ashes of Génération Identitaire, its predecessor dissolved in 2021 by the Council of Ministers.
“Far-right terrorists train here. Darmanin, Madam Prefect, take action
,” mentioned the message painted in black letters on a white tarpaulin, in the night, on the rise of Change.
A reference to the presence of a boxing gym called Agogée in the same premises as La Traboule.
“These places are used by an extremely violent extreme right in Lyon who uses these premises to organize and prepare violent actions

Several cases of recent violence

The elected official points out in particular
“the letters sent to the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, with other Lyon deputies”

“the oral questions”
to request the closure of this bar,

And to deplore the absence of announcements on this subject during the arrival of the tenant from Beauvau to Lyon last week.
This Monday morning at dawn, several posters demanding the
“dissolution”
of the association and the “
closure of the place”
were posted on the premises according to photos relayed by Allan Brunon.
As for the Rhône prefecture, we recall that files targeting both the small groups Les Remparts and Lyon Populaire are being constituted with a view to possible dissolution.
Files which have thickened in recent weeks with complaints for reconstitution of a dissolved league but also with some convictions.
Allan Bruno recalls that of a former executive of the Remparts association for a racist attack in the center of Lyon.
The mayor of EELV, Grégory Doucet, had also questioned Gérald Darmanin regarding the closure of La Traboule on this occasion.
A request made for a long time by the constituency's deputy, Thomas Rudigoz (LREM), who had worked to dissolve Génération Identitaire and Bastion Social.
The elected Macronist had also recently presented these premises as the “rear base” of small ultra-right groups during an attack on students in November.
Attack occurred the same evening of the attack on the premises of the Maison de passages, hosting a pro-Palestinian conference, by dozens of far-right activists.
A wave of arrests has recently been carried out in identity circles for this violence.
