The “Summer House of the Stars” is getting an offshoot without celebrities – which caused derisive comments online shortly after it became known.
Cologne/Bocholt – Anyone who doesn't regularly present new, exciting formats to their viewers in addition to tried-and-tested programs will have to worry about their ratings at some point.
Of course, RTL also wants to counteract this - and announced on Monday (March 25th) that it would expand the “Summer House of the Stars” to include a spin-off in which non-celebrities compete against each other.

For the time being, the “normal people's summer house”, as the working title is, will only be shown on the streaming platform RTL+.
Here, too, eight couples fight for prize money in front of a rustic farmhouse backdrop - with the small but important difference that the participants are not famous.
It is precisely this fact that quickly causes amusement online.
Recently, the “Summer House of the Stars” has repeatedly been criticized for not relying too often on real celebrities, but rather for offering a platform primarily to Z-list celebrities and influencers.
Some people don't really understand the difference to the normal season: "I'm still wondering where there were stars in it", "There used to be stars in it?", "Wasn't it always like that?" or "So everything as always,” it says in the corresponding Facebook comments under the official RTL announcement.
Viewers suspect: Normal season of “Sommerhaus der Stars” serves a specific purpose
Others, however, suspect that RTL simply wants to create new TV personalities with the “Sommerhaus der Stars” offshoot: “Is RTL running out of celebrities?
Because some of those who took part will definitely be found in some other reality format," predicts one Facebook user, while another agrees: "They will then be seen again in all the trash shows."
Ordinary people will soon be moving into the “Summer House of the Stars” - but because the cast of the RTL show has recently become weaker and weaker, that apparently doesn't make a difference for some people anyway.

The Cologne broadcaster will also be relying on other innovations in its program in the future: RTL wants to show a new Stefan Raab show for the European Championships.
