The nomination race is in full swing and clearly, anything goes.
As a new duel between Joe Biden and Donald Trump looms for the American presidential election on November 5, the two candidates are not shy of tackles.
Usually, it is the Republican billionaire who is the most verbose on the subject, never missing an opportunity to mock his opponent's recurring blunders.
This time, it is the current president who has taken on the role of the
“trashtalker”
, very popular during sports competitions in North America.
This Monday, March 25, Joe Biden sent out a concise message on X (formerly Twitter).
While Donald Trump boasted on his social network Truth Social of having won two prizes during an award ceremony organized by his golf club, the head of state congratulated him... with a touch of sarcasm:
“Bravo Donald.
What an accomplishment .
”
This ironic and infantilizing message responded to an announcement full of enthusiasm from the former president, published Sunday March 24.
“It is a great honor for me to be at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach this evening for the awards night to receive the club championship trophy and the senior club championship trophy,”
said -he writes.
“I won both!”
he also said, in capital letters.
Accusations of cheating
A great golf fan, Donald Trump was singled out during his mandate for the time spent on the fairways.
An American site had thus recorded 298 visits to golf clubs in four years, with proof of practice for at least 150 of them.
The former president also faced some high-profile accusations of cheating.
According to the
Daily Beast
, he is notably accused of having falsified the score of a game with Tiger Woods, sports legend and of having lied about the number of championships won.
In a book devoted to this subject, former sports columnist and amateur golfer Rick Reilly even accuses Donald Trump of having regularly had the ball moved to better positions by his caddy or even secret service agents.
