The Bavarian state government has promised 250,000 euros for the construction of the water rescue guard house in the Unterhaching outdoor pool.

Unterhaching - As the CSU state parliament member Kerstin Schreyer has now announced, there is around 100 million euros in the budget for 2024 that the government factions of the CSU and Free Voters have earmarked in order to “set their own financial policy accents”.

These funds will be used to support the construction of the new guard house with the said sum - although, as Schreyer emphasizes, it is a municipal task.

Member of the state parliament praises the work of the water rescue service

“The Unterhaching outdoor pool attracts bathers from all over the region in the summer, and the water rescue service has been doing outstanding work for many years, including ensuring the safety of bathers on weekends,” says Schreyer.

“The Unterhaching water rescue service is an impressive institution worthy of support, which is why I am incredibly pleased that the CSU and FW parliamentary groups have taken up my proposal as a parliamentary group initiative.”

She is confident that with this grant, which should cover around 50 percent of the costs incurred, “a new guard house will soon become the well-deserved new home for the BRK Wasserwacht Unterhaching”.

Tents will be set up temporarily

As reported, Unterhaching's mayor Wolfgang Panzer (SPD) recently announced to the local council that the water rescue hut in the outdoor pool is so dilapidated that it will be demolished at the beginning of April.

The water rescue service will temporarily set up a tent for its tasks for the coming outdoor swimming season.

A new building is planned for the medium term.

The financial injection from the Bavarian state government is certainly welcome.

In order for the money to actually flow, the corresponding changes still have to be decided on in the state parliament's budget committee.

However, Schreyer assumes that this will happen due to the majority of the government factions.
