The Agri-PV system west of Römerstrasse in Schongau is massive in size, and the last modules have been installed in the last few days.
Now all that's left is the final step from the network operator to connect.

Agri-PV system in the west of Schongau can theoretically be connected to the grid - another calf barn is planned
Schongau - Further construction work is planned at the Jocher organic farm in the west of Schongau: At the most recent meeting, the Schongau Building and Environmental Committee was presented with plans for an expansion of the farm.
An additional calf barn with an area of 27 by 10 meters is to be built in the south of the large cattle barn.
The stable is to be equipped with a trapezoidal sheet metal roof.
Ilona Böse (SPD) questioned whether there was also the possibility of equipping it with a PV system.
“You can,” replied CSU city councilor Florian Jocher, who sat on a chair in the audience area for this agenda item and did not vote.
“It would have to be checked formally,” says Sebastian Dietrich.
The city architect also pointed out that there are so many PV modules in the area - it could perhaps be left to the building applicant.
The groundbreaking ceremony was in October 2023
The groundbreaking ceremony took place in October last year - now the final spurt is taking place: “From a technical point of view, the system is ready,” explained Jocher when asked by the Schongauer Nachrichten.
14,040 modules have been mounted on the stands for the Agri-PV system in the past few days; the system output is 8,002 kilowatt peak (kWP).
The transfer station has already been set up and the connecting cable has also been laid under Römerstrasse.
Jocher has just signed the contract with the network operator.
“It feels like there is still a meter of cable missing, but it is now up to LVN to realize that,” says Jocher.
That could happen next week or even in six months – Jocher is of course hoping for a quick implementation.
Joint project with farm neighbor Michael Wäsle
An energy cooperative was founded for the joint project with the southern farm neighbor Michael Wäsle.
According to Jocher, 50 private individuals are involved with a deposit of over 500,000 euros.
There was also a climate savings bond through Sparkasse Oberland, which was able to finance around a quarter of the entire construction volume.
However, the exact cooperation with the possible major buyer Hirschvogel in the immediate vicinity has not yet been clarified.
The company has not yet wanted to commit to a long-term purchase.
The feed is therefore fed into the public network – “to ensure security,” as Jocher emphasizes.
The Agri-PV system was originally presented to the city council in November 2021 as a cooperation project between the Biohof Jocher and Hirschvogel Umformtechnik.
Will a PV system still be installed on the roof of the new calf barn?
And will there still be a PV system on the roof of the new calf barn?
Jocher didn't want to be 100 percent committed to that, as they were still in the planning phase.
“But I hope that this is not the decisive factor in the war in this case.
“You can see in all the other areas that I’m always thinking about it,” says the graduate agricultural engineer.
All roofs on the farm are covered with solar modules.

The special area for the Agri-PV system is around 75,000 square meters. “We have been living the energy transition for a very long time,” says Jocher.
This is also the topic in Schongau right now: The Schongau parish church support association has been busy collecting for the new bronze bells.
They will be cast in May at the latest, but as it turns out, they won't be on the church tower for years.
