In Tucumán, the challenge hearing requested by Abiel Osorio, José Florentín Bobadilla and Braian Cufré , the three

Vélez

soccer players

accused of sexual abuse against a 24-year-old girl,

was held this Monday , a measure that led to their house arrest.

The day took place in a debate behind closed doors, where those involved and their legal representatives fought for a favorable decision, which ultimately did not end up happening.

After several hours of deliberation, Judge

Laura Julieta Casas

finally ruled that

the athletes will continue to be detained in the province

.

This resolution came after a series of arguments presented by the defenders of Cufré and Osorio, who had requested the release of their clients, as well as Bobadilla's lawyers.

On the other hand, Ernesto Baaclini, representative of goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa, chose not to appeal the previous resolution issued by Judge Eliana Gómez Moreira.

During the hearing, defense professionals questioned Judge Gómez Moreira's rationale, arguing that the alleged inconsistencies in the victim's testimony were not taken into account.

In the debate, which lasted almost four hours,

prosecutor Eugenia María Posse energetically rejected the defenders' request for the

footballers to continue the process in freedom.

Before this intervention, the defenders presented for more than an hour the reasons why their clients should be released.

Later it was the turn of the victim, who firmly opposed the release of the accused.

The young woman reportedly considered it unfair that Cufré, Osorio and Bobadilla could remain in their homes, possibly enjoying comforts while they are linked to the process.

Additionally, she expressed fear at the possibility of meeting the defendants, despite the restrictions of house arrest.

The defenders of the detainees had asked that the process continue in freedom, suggesting that the soccer players remain in Buenos Aires to avoid any contact with the victim.

However, Judge Casas' decision confirmed that the Vélez athletes will continue under house arrest.

What about Sosa?

After four days of intense waiting,

goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa is still awaiting his release in the context of the sexual abuse case in which he is accused

.

Judge Eliana Gómez Moreira ordered his release, under a condition that sparked controversy: a bond of $50 million.

The court decision establishes that Sosa must pay this high sum to leave the cell he occupied for the last week in the former Investigation Brigade.

The bond can be guaranteed with various types of property, from real estate to legally registered vehicles and boats.

In order to expedite the procedures, lawyer Baaclini offered a sum of US$50,000.

However, the magistrate asked the defender to demonstrate the origin of the funds offered.

Additionally, she consulted the parties involved in the process.

According to reports, prosecutor Posse would not have presented any objections, while plaintiffs Juan Andrés Robles and Patricia Neme expressed their rejection of the proposal.

Faced with this situation, Baaclini presented a new brief to the magistrate, urging her to resolve this situation as soon as possible.

Uncertainty persists while awaiting the final decision.
