Brussels was quick to bang its fist on the table against the tech giants.
The European Commission opens five investigations against Apple, Meta and Google, suspected of serious infringements of European competition rules.
A first since the entry into force on March 7 of the Digital Markets Regulation (DMA), which aims to put an end to certain abusive practices by large platforms (Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, ByteDance, Meta, Microsoft).

declared Margrethe Vestager, European Commissioner for Competition, who initiated this legislation alongside Thierry Breton, Commissioner for Digital Affairs.
