An indictment was filed yesterday (Sunday) against a 40-year-old resident of Rishon LeZion for violently assaulting a woman in a supermarket.
In the investigation by Tel Aviv Police Station officers, it emerged that the accused took a bottle of perfume from a shelf in the supermarket, and put it in a sealed bag that he was holding. The saleswoman took the perfume out of the bag and the accused in response sprayed pepper spray in her face and fled the scene. Police officers from the heart of the city located the accused in Rishon Lezion a few days after the incident, arrested him and brought him in for questioning.
The indictment charges him with the offenses of theft, attempted theft and assault causing actual injury.
At the same time as the indictment, the police prosecution unit of the Tel Aviv district filed a request to extend his detention until the end of the proceedings.
