Donald Trump can breathe…or almost.
The former American president's bail, which he said he was unable to pay, was reduced from $454 million to $175 million, according to a New York court decision rendered on Monday.
He also benefits from ten additional days to find this money, although the deadline was set for this Monday.
Donald Trump was to provide a guarantee this Monday that he will pay nearly half a billion dollars in fines to which he was sentenced, with his sons Eric and Don Jr., for financial fraud within their real estate empire Trump Organization in the 2010s. At the risk of seeing their real estate assets seized and their bank accounts frozen by the local attorney general Letitia James who took them to court in October 2022 until having them sentenced by New York judge Arthur Engoron on the 16th.
