The bridge over Münchener Straße in Gilching-Geisenbrunn will be renovated from Easter.

Traffic restrictions are possible until the summer holidays.

Gilching – The repair of the bridge over Münchener Straße in Geisenbrunn will take several months.

During this time there will be a detour and a detour for pedestrians and cyclists.

Bridge renovation: After Easter, traffic in Gilching-Geisenbrunn will be rerouted - restrictions until the summer holidays

The identical bridge south of Argelsried was repaired as early as 2023.

The bridge in Geisenbrunn has the same serious damage and will therefore be renovated this year.

Both bridges were built in 1957 and no major repairs have been carried out since then.

The overhead emergency walkways, the so-called caps, are now in poor condition due to weather and road salt and need to be replaced.

Just like the bridge south of Argelsried, a seal was installed here that contains a small proportion of asbestos fibers.

The asbestos fibers are extremely harmful to health.

Work related to the removal of the seal must be carried out under extended protective measures.

This work is accompanied by measurement technology.

There is no danger to residents or road users.

The construction work begins on April 2nd and is expected to last until the summer holidays, according to the Weilheim State Building Authority.

The work is being carried out by the Fahrner company from Mallersdorf-Pfaffenberg.

A temporary bypass will be built in Gilching-Geisenbrunn and traffic will be closed on one side

Work will begin with the creation of a temporary bypass immediately east of the existing bridge.

This temporary bypass will direct traffic onto the main road.

To create the bypass, traffic on state road 2068 will be closed on one side with a traffic light and will be routed past the work site in a single lane.

In the next step, scaffolding will be built under the bridge, which will be needed for the demolition and repair work.

For this purpose, the Münchener Straße under the bridge and the state road will be closed alternately.

Traffic control is carried out via traffic lights and only lasts a few days.

When the work on the scaffolding is completed, the temporary bypass is activated.

The bridge can then be closed for construction work and traffic can flow largely without restrictions via the temporary bypass.

Footpath and cycle path in Gilching-Geisenbrunn closed during the entire construction period

The pedestrian and cycle path in the area of the temporary bypass must be closed during the entire construction period, as the temporary bypass crosses the existing pedestrian and cycle path.

Pedestrians are guided along the state road in the direction of Tonwerkstrasse.

A traffic light will be set up to cross the state road.

A diversion via Bahnhofstrasse and Ringstrasse will be signposted for cyclists.
