The head of the Republican list for Europeans, François-Xavier Bellamy, strongly criticized on Monday the “individual poaching” practiced by the RN and the Macronist camp on the traditional right.
He also claimed to have “not voted” in the second round of the presidential election in 2017 as in 2022 for Emmanuel Macron, without specifying whether he gave his vote to Marine Le Pen or whether he opted for abstention. .

“You have two political camps which practice individual poaching, as if it were the alpha and omega of a political vision,” criticized the MEP on France Inter.
He castigated an ambient discourse “which consists of making people believe that we are trying to survive when we are the only political party in this European election not to have lied to the French, not to have changed line , to have a real assessment”.

The LR list is becalmed around 7 to 8% of voting intentions, dangerously close to 5%, synonymous with disappearance in the European Parliament.
The announcement this weekend of the arrival of Malika Sorel, former support of François Fillon, as number 2 on the RN list, succeeding that of Fabrice Leggeri, former director of Frontex, pushed the president of LR Éric Ciotti to urge his voters on Saturday to “come back”.
“It is not because the National Rally, exactly like Emmanuel Macron, practices individual poaching that we will disappear,” insisted François-Xavier Bellamy.

Asked about the revelation by the number 2 on his list, Céline Imart, that she had never voted for Emmanuel Macron, who found himself twice facing Marine Le Pen in the 2nd round of the presidential elections of 2017 and 2022, he replied: “We are not going to break the secrecy of the voting booth, I did not vote for Emmanuel Macron, that’s all I can tell you.”
