There is no longer a food truck festival in Bruck.

It was the street food event in the district and beyond - now the food truck festival is history.
After the major sponsor pulled out, the organizers canceled the gourmet festival - probably forever.
Fürstenfeldbruck – “We say thank you and goodbye,” says the official Instagram page of the Fürstenfeldbruck Food Truck Festival.
The organizer, the Mahavi Group from Fürstenfeldbruck, has canceled the festival at the Volksfestplatz this year.
It looks like it will be removed from the events calendar forever.
break last year
The food truck festival was already on pause last year.
In its announcement in January 2023, the Mahavi Group cited, among other things, the city's changed requirements as the reason.
Until then, the organizer was allowed to charge fees for public parking spaces on the Volksfestplatz.
But this exception would no longer have been tolerated by the city last year.
The parking spaces “should - as with other events/rentals - be available to visitors, and especially to the city's citizens, free of charge for shopping or errands in the city,” said the town hall in January 2023.
Given the overall increase in costs, it was not possible for the organizers to organize the festival economically.
Major sponsor drops out
For 2024 - the Schlemmer Festival should have taken place on June 22nd and 23rd - the situation has not improved.
“We already paid extra last time,” says Mahavi spokeswoman Nadin Fischer when asked by our newspaper.
In addition, the major sponsor Kabel 1 has dropped out.
There is a lack of financial support.
In general, sponsors are unsettled after the pandemic.
“We would have had to have the festival with entry and fencing to make it economical,” says the Mahavi spokeswoman.
But that is not the point of the event.
Basic idea can no longer be implemented
And: “Many food truckers did not survive the pandemic,” says Nadin Fischer.
“As a result, many of the offerings were no longer there.” The basic idea of the festival, that original food trucks like those found in America would be set up, could hardly be implemented.
There are fewer and fewer operators with original, rolling food stalls.
Requests came from operators of ordinary food stalls and stalls.
“It was difficult to design it differently,” says Nadin Fischer.
“In 2022 there were already trucks that we didn’t necessarily want.” In addition, more and more offers on the site have doubled.
No longer asked
The food truck festival took place a total of five times on the Bruck Volksfestplatz and attracted between 25,000 and 30,000 visitors on each weekend.
2020 and 2021 had to be paused due to the corona pandemic.
Will it ever come back?
“You can’t say that yet.
But you almost have to go to the point where the concept is no longer in demand,” says Nadin Fischer.
“You have to accept that.
There are times when it simply doesn’t work anymore.” The Bruck-based company is still optimistic about the future and is already planning new ideas.
