The government and parliamentarians from all sides have been attacking tourist rentals, such as Airbnb, for months.
With their 109 million overnight stays recorded in 2019, according to Eurostat, they are accused of accentuating the shortage of housing for residents and increasing the cost of land.
And what could be better than increased taxation to dissuade owners from renting their apartments to passing tourists?
Our elected officials have therefore been struggling for months over the level of tax reductions, representative of the charges, to be granted to owners of furnished tourist accommodation.
