The Prime Minister did not file a complaint.

However, during his visit to the Coulommiers cheese and wine fair, in Seine-et-Marne, Friday March 22, Gabriel Attal was the target of insults, including of a homophobic nature, while he wandered around the aisles of the event in the company of the officials.

At the origin of this incident, two men in a drunken state, who were immediately subdued by the police and placed in police custody at the Coulommiers police station.

This 55th edition of the fair, an event which regularly attracts tens of thousands of visitors, had nevertheless started under the best auspices and under the sun with an inauguration with great fanfare by Laurence Picard, mayor of the city, and the “regional of the 'stage', Franck Riester, Minister Delegate, responsible for Foreign Trade, Attractiveness, Francophonie and French people abroad.

Responding to the latter's invitation, the Prime Minister arrived at Coulommiers late in the afternoon.

Selfies, tastings of local products, discussions with breeders, Gabriel Attal appeared all smiles during this gourmet visit.

Unfortunately, this moment of conviviality was therefore polluted by the untimely intervention of two men, aged 38 and 39, in a state of obvious intoxication.

It took the rapid intervention of the police to stop the barrage of various insults.

Mission not quite accomplished since the members of the police were also entitled to some good names.

The two men were then taken into custody at the police station.

After a night at the station, the youngest was released without any prosecution.

On the other hand, his sidekick was referred to the Meaux public prosecutor's office.

Already known to the police, this resident of Coulommiers, despite his denials, will be tried in September 2024 for contempt and rebellion.

Unlike the Prime Minister, the police filed a complaint.
