There will be 339 candidates from all high schools in the Marche region who will face the various tests on March 27th to obtain the Ancient Greek Linguistic Certification (CLGA).

This is the first experience of its kind in the Marche, the result of a memorandum of understanding between the regional school office and the Universities of Macerata and Urbino.

An initiative, explains the Regional School Office, which intends to contribute to enriching the curriculum of Marche students, certifying the possession of knowledge, skills and competences acquired in the various high school courses.

The certification provides, similarly to those relating to modern languages, two levels (A1 and A2) based on the procedure in use for the assessment of linguistic skills (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), with the specific adaptations required by the peculiarities of the ancient language.

The tests will take place on a specially created Moodle platform, where candidates will also be able to familiarize themselves with the e-learning environment and practice with the tests uploaded in view of the actual certification.

"Great satisfaction" is expressed by UsrMarche for the many registrations for the tests for this very first event of the initiative.

Contrary to what is provided for the Latin linguistic certification, access to the A2 level test is not conditional on passing the A1 test: therefore candidates for the higher level certification are not required to take the previous level test.

Each candidate can undergo more than one test in the same session.

During the tests, the use of dictionaries (paper or digital) is not permitted, nor is the use of mobile phones or other electronic instruments capable of allowing any type of communication.

In agreement with the partner universities, the definition of the test criteria, together with the preparation, organization and evaluation of the same, is entrusted to a regional coordination committee.
