There is uncertainty surrounding the next school year.
Scheduled for Monday September 2, 2024, the return of students to school will take place in the middle of the Paralympic Games, which will end on Sunday September 8.
A full week will therefore require cohabitation between the Games and the return to school - a week during which the establishments closest to the event sites may have to adapt.
This is the case for example in the 15th arrondissement of Paris which adjoins several Olympic sites: the Champ-de-Mars Trocadéro sector as well as the Porte de Versailles and its exhibition center.
According to our information, the directors of a dozen establishments recently met to discuss the possible consequences of the juxtaposition of the school and Paralympic calendars.
“Repercussions too significant”
“A solution would have been discussed with the Paris academy, that of bringing the children to school in the morning before 8 a.m. and picking them up at 2 p.m.,” relates Philippe Goujon, mayor (LR) of the 15th arrondissement.
In order, in particular, to prevent Parisian families from finding themselves in the flow of spectators.
The elected official is also outraged at not having been involved in the discussions between the Paris academy and the establishments concerned.
“Scandalous.

“The repercussions would be too great in terms of organization.
Already for parents, notes Philippe Goujon.
In the middle of the day, it disorganizes everything.
Even canteen services, leisure centers... Everything would be impacted if we apply these hours.

Discussions are underway on this subject, confirms the municipality.
