A few days after the major breakdown of a train at the François-Mitterrand library station, RER C traffic was again seriously disrupted this Monday evening due to a new breakdown.
According to the SNCF, an RER heading to Saint-Martin d'Étampes broke down in the capital between the Saint-Michel Notre Dame and Paris-Austerlitz stations, causing an interruption of traffic for all trains heading to Saint-Martin. d'Étampes, Massy-Palaiseau, Dourdan and Versailles shipyards.

Blocked for “a good thirty minutes”, according to the SNCF, the broken down RER was finally able to reach the Paris-Austerlitz station and traffic gradually resumed around 6:45 p.m.
“The trains are running normally with a few people on the platforms due to this traffic interruption,” added the SNCF.
However, some disruptions remained as a result of this outage.

Around 7 p.m., the RER C account X indicated that traffic was again interrupted in this direction of travel between Saint-Quentin en Yvelines and Viroflay Rive Gauche.
The resumption of traffic was estimated at 8 p.m.
This is the second time in a week that the RER C has experienced a major incident.
Last Monday, exasperated passengers got out of a broken down train after “several hours” of waiting to return on foot to the François-Mitterrand library station.
The president of Île-de-France Mobilités, in charge of transport in the region, Valérie Pécresse, must present a “recovery plan” for the line on Tuesday.
