Kassel - After shooting at passers-by, the police in Kassel arrested a 32-year-old suspect.
The man is said to have injured several people in Kassel with an air gun.
As the police announced on Monday, two men aged 23 and 51 were shot in the leg and face respectively in the area of a tram stop that morning.
They reported to the police and, according to current information, will need to be operated on in hospitals.
Intensive investigations by Kassel police officers into the crimes on Monday morning and a similar incident on March 17th revealed evidence of a 32-year-old from Kassel, the police said.
Based on witness statements and evaluations of surveillance cameras, the suspicion was further confirmed.
Officers from a special operations team finally arrested the suspect unharmed in his apartment around midday.
The man appeared confused.
According to the police, further investigations into a possible motive for the crime and the search of his apartment for the means of crime are currently ongoing.
An 18-year-old was injured at a bus stop on March 17th.
During the medical examination, a projectile was found in his calf, which had to be surgically removed.
