All in good time !

The students of the Christophe-Colomb comprehensive high school in Sucy-en-Brie (Val-de-Marne) can today celebrate a small victory.

A bus from line 4 (future line 434), which allows you to reach the Cité-Verte and Fosse-Rouge sector and its collective housing, will soon arrive in front of the establishment at 5:57 p.m., just a few minutes after the end of class bell rang.

Until then, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, this bus made its last stop here at 5:22 p.m., when the last high school students were still in class.

The situation, denounced for several years, mobilized at the beginning of March not far from the high school gates.

One Saturday morning, parents of students did not hesitate to pound the streets in front of this structure bringing together some 1,800 students.

Present alongside them in support, elected officials in scarves, such as the LFI regional councilor Vianney Orjebin and the LFI deputy for the 3rd constituency of Val-de-Marne Louis Boyard.

“There are students who take 50 minutes to walk home,” said the latter.

Sucy-en-Brie, Saturday March 2, 2024. Several dozen parents of students, here with elected officials such as LFI deputy Louis Boyard, had blocked two buses to demand one for school leave, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

The new 5:57 p.m. stop put in place after the Easter holidays

The action, presented as “good-natured” by the parents of the students, was then accompanied by a blocking of two of these buses from the company Transdev.

The transport organizing authority in the region, Île-de-France Mobilities (IDFM) reacted by condemning these blockages and their consequences on the operation of line 4. A legal follow-up was mentioned: “We asked Transdev to file complaint, as we systematically do in this type of situation,” indicated our interlocutor.

This Monday, March 25, IDFM confirms that a complaint was filed by Transdev around ten days ago.

“It is unacceptable that we prevent the smooth running of a public service,” says Île-de-France Mobilités.

Like the parents of the students, Olivier Trayaux, the mayor (LR) of Sucy-en-Brie, welcomes this release, which was already taking shape when the parents of the students were mobilizing in front of the high school.

“At the beginning of the month, we left on a bus passing in front of the high school at 6:07 p.m., from May 20,” rewinds the elected official, who highlights the action in this case of Jean-Daniel Amsler, his deputy for public transport, also vice-president of the departmental council.

“A bus will show up in front of the high school at 5:57 p.m., but after the Easter holidays,” he specifies.

“We did our best to find the most feasible solution in the short term,” explains IDFM.

The needs of students and their parents have finally been heard.
