Kate wore a striped Erdem sweater, worth around 760 euros, in the video. The sweater is reminiscent of happier times, such as a visit by Kate and William to their old university of St. Andrews in 2021.

Kate Middleton made her cancer public in an emotional video message.

Down to the smallest detail, it conveys a very specific image.

Windsor – Last Friday (March 22nd) Princess Kate (42) put an end to the guesswork about her health.

In a video published on Friday evening, she talks about her abdominal surgery in January, which was initially assumed to be non-cancer.

“However, post-surgery tests revealed that there was cancer,” said Kate Middleton.

“Sometimes she’s not a princess”: This is the message Kate Middleton wants to convey in her cancer video

Princess Kate gave her touching statement even more weight by focusing on details that are hardly noticeable at first glance.

However, neither the location where the video was recorded nor the outfit Kate is wearing were chosen at random.

For the photo, Kate chose jeans and a striped sweater - an outfit that many people have in their closet, although probably in a cheaper version.

Princess Kate's nautical cashmere sweater with Breton stripes will look familiar to royal fans.

Because the Erdem sweater, worth around 760 euros, is one of Kate's absolute favorite pieces.

Among other things, she wore it in 2021 during a visit to the elite University of St. Andrews, where she and Prince William (41) met in 2001.

for Prince Louis' 5th birthday last April, Kate wears the striped sweater while pushing her youngest around in a wheelbarrow.

Sometimes she is not a princess, but a mother of schoolchildren, a wife and a housewife.

That's the message Kate sent when she revealed her cancer diagnosis in a simple Breton striped sweater.

He's a personal favorite of the Princess of Wales, who has resorted to his jaunty navy stripes on several previous - and happier - occasions.

Daffodils as a symbol of hope: Princess Kate's message of encouragement amid her battle with cancer

By choosing this everyday look, Kate Middleton wanted to convey the message that she is not just a public figure, but also a private person who now has to concentrate on herself and her family after her cancer diagnosis.

“Sitting on a park bench in jeans and barely any make-up, with her long hair down, she emphasized the fact that cancer has no regard for her privileged life.

And she asked us for the understanding she needed to fight against it privately,” says Sarah Oliver.

In her video message, Princess Kate, who is suffering from cancer, relies on symbolism: The daffodil is intended to give courage in the fight against cancer, Kate's sweater is reminiscent of happier times, such as a visit by Kate and William to their old university of St. Andrews in 2021 (right).

But the background of the video message was also carefully chosen.

Princess Kate sat down in front of a meadow full of daffodils, also known as daffodils.

This may not only be due to the time of year, but also the symbolism.

The resilient flowers are considered a symbol of hope for cancer sufferers; there is even a World Daffodil Day, which is celebrated on August 23rd and is considered an international day of action in the fight against cancer.

In the past, Princess Kate and Prince William have often been spotted with daffodil pins, but now Kate is using the splash of color as a source of encouragement - for herself and other cancer sufferers.

“To everyone affected by this disease in whatever form, please do not lose faith and hope.

You are not alone,” Princess Kate concludes her video message, the timing of which was not a coincidence.
