Highlights: The deficit in childcare facilities that the municipality has to bear is growing and growing. For the 2023/24 care year, which runs until September, the municipality will probably have to pay around two million euros more. If the deficit were to be divided equally between the municipality and parents, parents would have to accept a 91 percent increase in fees. The fees have already been increased by 20 percent as of September 2023. But that just covers the additional costs incurred from 2022 to 2023 and the municipality's share of the total costs remained unchanged.

After an increase in 2023, daycare fees in Maisach will rise again this year: by 30 percent for kindergarten and after-school care, and by 20 percent for crèches.

And the next increase will follow in 2025.

Maisach – The deficit in childcare facilities that the municipality has to bear is growing and growing.

This has to do with increased operating costs and increased personnel costs due to collective bargaining agreements.

For the 2023/24 care year, which runs until September, the municipality will probably have to pay around two million euros more.

If the deficit were to be divided equally between the municipality and parents, parents would have to accept a 91 percent increase in fees.

Of course this couldn't be implemented, they said, but they wanted to show the need for the increase.

The fees have already been increased by 20 percent as of September 2023.

But that just covers the additional costs incurred from 2022 to 2023.

The municipality's share of the total costs remained unchanged.

60 percent?

Therefore, the parents now have to be held financially responsible, said daycare representative Gabriele Rappenglitz (CSU) in the local council: “What we raised in 2023 was far too little.” Actually, in order to relieve the burden on the municipality, the fees have to be increased Increase 60 percent.

Their compromise, which was unanimously accepted by the local council: From September 2024, kindergarten and after-school care fees will rise by 30 percent, and the already higher daycare rates will rise by 20 percent.

The next increase will follow in September 2025: by 15 percent for kindergartens and after-school care centers and ten percent for crèches.

Rappenglitz defended the increase with the good care in Maisach, due to the employment ratio: in local kindergartens there are nine children for every skilled worker, in other municipalities there are ten or even eleven.

There are fewer children in the groups and more staff.

In addition, the previous after-school care fees were well below the district average.

A calculation example from Rappenglitz, head of the children's home in Alling until the end of 2023, particularly impressed the Maisach local council: If a child is looked after in kindergarten for six hours a day, the parents (everyone receives a monthly state subsidy of 100 euros for the childcare place) pay per child Hourly care costs around 60 cents.

New sentences in crèche, kindergarten and after-school care

Due to the 30 percent increase in the kindergarten area, the fees are as follows: For bookings of up to four hours, 138 euros have to be paid from September (previously: 106 euros), for up to seven hours it is 208 euros (160 euros), for up to ten hours 304.50 euros (234 euros).

The state subsidy of 100 euros must still be deducted.

These new rates also apply to after-school care, although the care time after school ends is shorter.

The prices for the cribs go up by 20 percent.

Then you have to pay 248 euros for up to four hours (previously 206.50 euros), for up to seven hours 434 euros (361.50 euros) and for the maximum care time of up to ten hours 619.50 euros (previously 516 euros). .
