The actor Fritz Wepper struggled with health problems for a long time.
He has now died at the age of 82.
Munich – Fritz Wepper was one of the most famous German actors.
Now the Munich native has died at the age of 82.
Wepper was considered to be completely out of therapy because medication no longer worked for him.
He was accompanied until his death in a hospice in Upper Bavaria and, according to his wife, Susanne Kellermann, he passed away peacefully there on Monday morning (March 25).
Wepper has a daughter with Kellermann.
He also has another daughter from his first marriage.
His exact cause of death remained unknown for the time being.

The TV star suffered from skin cancer in 2021, which had already spread.
Only a short time later he had to undergo emergency surgery because of a benign tumor in his abdominal cavity.
Wepper then spent several weeks in the intensive care unit.
But he managed to recover.

In December 2023, the actor was admitted to a hospice with severe sepsis.
According to his wife, he almost didn't survive because his artificial heart valve also became inflamed.
“In his condition and age, they couldn't operate on him; they tried to get it under control with antibiotics.
The fact that he survived is a miracle!
Fritz is weakened, but he feels good and is not in any pain,” Kellermann explained to
Bunten
.

on the mend.
However, Wepper had already suffered from blood poisoning in 2011, from which he never fully recovered.
In October 2023, his brother Elmar died unexpectedly.
According to Kellermann, the shock had an impact on the actor's immune system.

Wepper was born in Munich in 1941 and took on various acting roles as a child.
He achieved his breakthrough in the role of Harry Klein in the
ZDF
crime series “The Commissioner”.
From 1974 he played the same role in the cult series “Derrick”.
He achieved his international breakthrough in the 1970s with a supporting role in the Oscar-winning film “Cabaret” alongside Liza Minnelli.
