The Falstaff magazine looked for the most popular pizzerias in Germany.
In Bavaria it was a close race at the front.
Würzburg - Pizza is the favorite fast food of all for many people.
The Falstaff magazine has therefore made it its mission to find out which are the most popular pizzerias in Germany.
“Where do you think there is the best pizza, the friendliest staff and the most harmonious atmosphere?” the magazine wanted to know from its community - now the answers are available, broken down by federal state.
Ranking of the most popular pizzerias in Germany: The top 10 for Bavaria
In Bavaria, the race for the top places was close: Pizzeria Pino from Würzburg was ultimately able to prevail and secured first place with 32 percent.
In second and third place are Simpl Restaurant - Pizzeria - Bar from Auerbach (29 percent) and PEPE neapolitan pizza & food & drinks from Würzburg (24 percent).

Papageno Mediterranean cuisine (Regensburg): 3 percent

Pizzesco (Munich): 2 percent

Pizza Zulù from Fürth is at the top of another ranking
Pizza Zulù from Fürth was named the best pizzeria in Germany by an Italian portal in 2023.
The restaurant took 32nd place in a ranking of the best pizzerias worldwide - as the best German pizzeria.
The restaurant now made it to 6th place in the Falstaff ranking for Bavaria.
By the way, the first German pizzeria was founded in Würzburg in 1952.
“Since then, the Italian national dish in Germany has seen a steep uphill climb,” says Falstaff.
If you're now hungry for a good pizza, you can try one of the restaurants in the ranking - or go to your trusted Italian restaurant.
