Highlights: The municipality of Pliening is taking out an eight million loan this year. The main reasons for this are the construction of multi-story apartments (Alte Schule Gelting) and the ongoing construction of a senior citizens' facility in the Plieningen center. The general direction of the budget for 2024 had already been determined in the previous weeks; not least in the Finance Committee on March 7th. The current year will then be completed with a budget that has a volume of around 39.33 million euros.

Various construction measures are the reason why the municipality of Pliening has to take out a loan worth millions this year.

Pliening –

No, the municipality of Pliening does not have any worrying financial difficulties.

The budget approved by the local council last Thursday and the financial plan until 2027 are balanced.

There are still a good ten million euros in reserves.

Nevertheless, this year we are forced to take out a loan of up to eight million euros to balance our asset budget.

The main reasons for this are the construction of multi-story apartments (Alte Schule Gelting), the construction of two apartment buildings in the Landsham Süd development area and the ongoing construction of a senior citizens' facility in the Plieningen center.

The administration announced these key data during the local council's budget debate.

The meeting was chaired by the second mayor Franz Xaver Burghart, who represented town hall boss Roland Frick.

Frick had to undergo an operation, which reportedly went well.

At least the town hall boss had the leisure to send a greeting to his colleagues on the council from the clinic.

Total volume of 39 million euros

The general direction of the budget for 2024 had already been determined in the previous weeks;

not least in the Finance Committee on March 7th.

The current year will then be completed with a budget that has a volume of around 39.33 million euros.

This means that Pliening's municipal budget has almost reached a record level;

only in 2020 was it slightly higher.

The adopted statutes set the following tax rates: property tax A and B each at 350 percent and trade tax at 380 percent.

CSU parliamentary group spokesman René Buchmann emphasized that Pliening is benefiting from a significant increase in trade and income tax this year.

On the other hand, you are also investing on a scale that is rare.

Third mayor Brigitte Freund (Greens) warned that calculations should be more cautious in the future, as there are further large chunks of investment to be made.

Nevertheless, the plenary session passed a unanimous decision on the figures presented without any further discussions in the public part.
