A rabbit in a frog costume: Josef Greckl hasn't seen that yet either.
That's why the bunny dad decided this year that the Ottenhofen bunny school should rehearse a play.
Ottenhofen – Under the watchful eyes of the rabbit teacher, three rabbit students in frog, king and princess costumes are now standing in front of the blackboard on the main street through Ottenhofen and playing “The Frog Prince”.
The frog prince as a rabbit - that's something special, says Greckl.
The sun's rays make the golden ball in the frog's hand sparkle and the gemstones on the crown shine.
Meanwhile, the other rabbit students are sitting in their school desks in costume and watching what is happening.
As soon as the last bunny is placed and the lamp is plugged in, children scurry from all sides to take a closer look at the bunny school.
The little ones enthusiastically examine every detail.
After all, there is so much to discover again this year.
From the classroom itself to the cloakroom to the locus, Greckl has thought of every little thing.
The children can write on the rabbit students' tablets themselves with chalk.
The rabbit school has now become a popular excursion destination almost throughout Bavaria.
It could quickly get crowded on a sunny weekend, Greckl remembers, looking contentedly at his work.
Since the rabbit school is located directly on the main street, a warning triangle has been set up, but parents should still keep a close eye on their children.
According to Greckl, there are over 20 figures distributed in the Ottenhofen center and at the town entrances.
He used to set up the rabbit school in one day, “but it's getting bigger and bigger.” That's why he started setting it up last Thursday so that the school could officially open on Saturday afternoon.
It can easily take a whole day for one rabbit alone.
But most of the time the Ottenhofener doesn't work all at once, but rather when it's just convenient: at night, when the children are in bed, or on free afternoons at the weekend.
The Ottenhofen Garden and Homeland Friends took care of the Easter decorations in town.
Mascha Voidl and the Markt Schwaben Theater Association helped Greckl with the costumes for the bunnies.
There he bought a wedding dress, which he dyed blue and turned into the king's daughter's dress.
The Frog Prince's costume also makes you think of the pond games in the neighboring town - only in Ottenhofen you don't see a person, but a rabbit in a frog costume.
