About two weeks after the operation in which she was infected, Assuta Hospital told the family that the hospital management had asked the Ministry of Health to appoint an inspection committee, according to Attorney Avi Shmoeli. With the patient's second surgery, the close friend said, she was found to have a cerebral hemorrhage in the frontal lobe.
"It took a while until they got the bleeding under control. Right now they want to declare her a brain dead patient. Who knows why they didn't decide to check her first," she said in frustration.
