The new political rift that formed around the figure of
Javier Milei
is beginning to have a replica in the pollsters that measure the president and his management.
Or at least,
divergent numbers
are beginning to appear in terms of how public opinion sees it.
This Sunday Clarín
published a study by the consulting firm
Opinaia
, which showed an improvement in the libertarian's performance, to the point that the president himself had retweeted a table with that data.
But now, in parallel, a survey by the firm
Zuban Córdoba
is circulating in the opposition with figures that raise an alert in the ruling party.
Examples?
They assure that
for the majority the responsibility for the current economic crisis already lies with Milei
and not with Alberto-Cristina-Massa.
And that leaders like Governor
Axel Kicillof
or even Deputy
Leandro Santoro
have
a better image than the President
.
Zuban Córdoba
is a consulting firm that united two pollsters: Zuban, by
Paola Zuban
, more linked to business and the business world;
and Córdoba, by
Gustavo Córdoba
, a well-known political analyst who had as recent clients the then candidate Horacio Rodríguez Larreta or the Fernández Government itself.
Between March 7 and 9, the firm conducted a
national survey of 1,500 cases
with +/- 2.53% margin of error.
And if you compare it with other studies that this newspaper also published, it is the job that the President does the worst.
Perhaps that is why, according to
Clarín
, the
report circulates in opposition circles.
To facilitate the analysis, the results were divided into three parts.
Part 1: wrong course and relegated by two K
In the first boxes,
Zuban Córdoba
includes a question that he has been asking since previous administrations and has to do with
"the direction"
the country is taking.
In the
last measurement
,
55.4%
believe it is
"incorrect"
and
42.4%
believe it is
"correct
. "
In
December
, when he took over as Libertarian, the numbers were almost
exactly reversed
.
A similar proportion occurs when asked about the
approval of the Government
:
42.7% support and 57.3% reject
.
But the most worrying thing for the ruling party, always according to this survey, is that the trend is for the worse.

But the most striking thing in this first part of the survey is the ranking of images of the leaders.
In the bulk of the polls, Milei and the ruling party appear at the top and the opposition at the bottom
.
In some, even, the President and officials such as Vice President Victoria Villarruel and Minister Patricia Bullrich achieve the rarity of having more positive than negative evaluations.
Here, Milei is left not only with an image differential against him (+ 42.3% and - 57.3%), but he is surpassed by leaders of Unión por la Patria such as the aforementioned Kicillof (+ 47.4% and - 50, 8%) and Santoro (+ 53.9% and - 36.5%), and remains close to Sergio Massa (+ 42% and - 56.6%), his rival in the runoff, who in other polls is dragging along the table background.
Part 2: more responsible than Alberto and Massa
From the second part of the survey, perhaps
the data that draws the most attention is when asked about responsibility for the current economic situation
.
Because even though the Milei Government is applying a severe adjustment, in most surveys the "inheritance effect" continues to appear: many people who believe that the main fault lies with the previous administration and even that of Mauricio Macri.
This, for example, is seen in the latest work of
Proyección
, a consultancy firm closer to Peronism/Kirchnerism.
But in Zuban Córdoba
's measurement
,
51.7% blame the "Milei - Caputo" duo
against 46% who point to the "Fernández - Massa" duo.

Then, the report messes with the impact of the adjustment, filtered by campaign promises, and the results are bad for the President.
Although in this case, other studies have already appeared with similar results.
Interviewees are asked their level of agreement/disagreement with certain phrases.
And it derives in these numbers:
Only
23.9%
agree that
"the adjustment is being paid by the caste"
, against
88.5%
who assure that
"we are all paying the adjustment"
.
In the same logic,
69%
say that
they no longer know "what else to adjust to make ends meet"
and, even more worrying,
53.8%
confess to being
"afraid of losing my job
. "
Part 3: rejection of the main measures, except with inclusive language
Finally, Labor asks people's opinions on
some of the new Government's most controversial measures
, even outside the economy.
And there, of the four that pass through the filter of public opinion, only one achieves approval.
43.8% say they "completely agree" with prohibiting inclusive language and 9.5% "somewhat agree." It is the only one that exceeds 50 "agreement" points.

On the other hand, with the
closure of Inadi
,
47.9%
"totally disagree"
and
6.2%
"
somewhat
disagree"
;
and also majority rejection of the
closure of the Télam news agency
(
52.8% "totally disagree"
and
4.4
%
"somewhat disagree"
) and the
elimination of the Teacher Incentive Fund
(
59.9% "totally in disagree"
and
5.9% "somewhat disagree"
).
