Dramatic major fire in an old building in Solingen: Three people die in the flames and several are seriously injured.
A small child is still missing.
Solingen - After the dramatic major fire in an old building in Solingen, one person is still missing on Monday morning.
It was a small child, said fire department operations manager Gottfried Kreuzberg.
Those killed were two adults and a child.
The forces suspected the missing toddler was in the attic of the house and searched there despite the danger of a partially burned-out floor.
“The chance of survival is dwindling by the minute,” he said.
Sniffer dogs were requested.
According to him, nine people were seriously or moderately injured in the fire.
They were taken to hospitals.
Twelve others are considered slightly injured.
According to the information, nine of them were taken to hospitals.
To escape the flames, a man with a child in his arms and a woman jumped out of the building's windows, the spokesman reported.
One person landed on a car roof even though the fire department had set up a jumping cushion.
Emergency pastors are on duty.
The city had assigned a bus to quickly accommodate uninjured residents, he said.
