According to the police on Monday, March 25, the tractor's crane body got caught on the cable on Sunday.
The 67-year-old driver is said to have noticed this after a few meters.
Nevertheless, he pulled the line with his tractor so hard that a telephone pole broke and fell onto the street.
Eleven other masts also suffered damage.
An accident recently caused traffic chaos in Middle Franconia.
A power line was damaged during construction work and the highway had to be closed for almost 32 hours.
