The ex-president would have had to pay the fine of almost half a billion US dollars as bail today.
But the court granted him a reprieve.
New York - An appeals court has given former US President Donald Trump more time to pay a fine worth millions from a fraud trial.
Trump now has to raise $175 million (around 160 million euros) within ten days, the court in New York announced.
It was also announced that the criminal trial against former President Donald Trump in connection with hush money payments to a porn actress is scheduled to begin on April 15th.
According to consistent US media reports, Judge Juan Merchan in New York decided that a jury should be selected from that day - around three weeks later than originally planned.
There has never been a criminal trial against a former president in US history.
