The surveillance camera on the door of a Queens apartment captured the moment a Latina mother rushed to the rescue of her daughter when an alleged stalker tried to kidnap her.
The newly released Ring camera video shows the incident that occurred at 9 a.m. on January 23 at an apartment building in the Astoria neighborhood.
In the images you can see when Lex, 18, is about to enter his home.
Behind her, a man with his face covered quickly descends the stairs to try to take her away by force.
In the recording you can see that a dog starts barking and Lex's mother, Adriana Álvarez, runs out after her daughter.
The alleged kidnapper was identified by police as George Vassiliou, 25, who was Lex's co-worker.
Vassiliou faces charges of attempted kidnapping and is being held with bail set at $50,000, according to police records.
He pleaded not guilty to a host of charges stemming from the attack, according to NBC News.
“I have never heard my daughter scream like that,” Álvarez, 35, told NBC News, sister network of Noticias Telemundo.

What followed was a battle between the man and both women across four floors.
When they reached the first floor, a neighbor who heard them screaming came out with a stick and hit Vassiliou, and finally another neighbor helped by detaining him until the police arrived.
"He was hitting me and pepper sprayed me," Alvarez told NBC News.

As a result of the confrontation, Álvarez suffered a dislocated shoulder, a fractured eye socket and a broken elbow.
NYPD sources, cited by the New York Post, said Vassiliou rented a car the night before the attempted kidnapping and parked it outside the building where Álvarez and his daughter live.
Inside, authorities found ropes, sleeping pills, melatonin and tampons.
A knife was also discovered in one of his pockets, according to The Post.
"I had the angels on my side," Alvarez told NBC News.
"I'm so grateful to have her back."
