It was almost thirty years ago.
In 1995, after many attempts, Serge Dassault (RPR) captured the town of Corbeil-Essonnes, under the noses of the communists, in place since 1959. A town that he managed to keep for a quarter of century… but with methods condemned by the courts.
The billionaire used his colossal fortune to shower the city with millions of euros, part of this money being used to buy the elections.
For years, Corbeil-Essonnes was the scene of the establishment of a system of corruption on a scale never seen before.
The first to denounce it was Bruno Piriou (DVG), who, after the death of Serge Dassault in 2018, took the reins of the city in 2020.
