The Duchess of York finds touching words.
London – After Princess Kate (42) made her cancer diagnosis public last week, numerous people are speaking out to express their support for the wife of Prince William (41).
Sarah Ferguson (64), the ex-wife of Prince Andrew (64), has now also shared a message.
Sarah Ferguson is “full of admiration” for Princess Kate
“All my thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales as she begins her treatment,” writes “Fergie,” her nickname, in a statement on Instagram.
“I know she will be surrounded by the love of her family and everyone is praying for the best possible outcome.”
The 64-year-old, who has had breast cancer herself and was recently diagnosed with skin cancer, continues: “As someone who has had her own battles with cancer in recent months, I am full of admiration for the way in which She has spoken publicly about her diagnosis and knows that it will go a long way in raising awareness of this condition." She wishes Kate "the time, space and privacy to recover."
Fergie, Kate and Charles: Three royals have cancer
Sarah Ferguson made her own skin cancer diagnosis public in January of this year.
A malignant melanoma was discovered.
It was only in July 2023 that the Duchess of York underwent a mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Princess Kate made her own diagnosis public last Friday (March 22) in a lengthy video message.
In it she explained that she had been diagnosed with cancer following her abdominal surgery in January and was now undergoing treatment.
Kate did not make public what type of cancer it was.
