A domestic dispute in a Bronx apartment ended with a death after a woman admitted to using a cooking pot to kill her mother, according to police sources.
Police were called to a home on Westchester Avenue, near Forest Avenue, in the Mott Haven neighborhood, early Monday morning for a domestic dispute, police sources told NBC New York.
Upon arrival shortly before 4:00 a.m. (ET) they found a woman with a serious head injury.

The 46-year-old victim was unresponsive and had a visible wound on the back of his head.
The woman's 26-year-old daughter confessed to hitting her mother with a large pot, causing her to lose consciousness.
The daughter then called 911 and told the operator: “I just killed my mother.”
But she claimed that
she had acted in self-defense
when her mother tried to attack her.

There were no more witnesses at the scene.
Officers cordoned off the scene and transported the mother to Lincoln Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The daughter, identified by sources as Skydajah Patterson, was taken into custody.
It was not immediately clear what charges she might face.

The mother, identified by sources as Selma McLean, had called the police twice
to report that she had been assaulted by her daughter
